Russia, Imperial   Please don't hesitate make me your offer !!  I always can give you a good discount UNIQUE order ‘Pour le Merite’, gold with Oak Leaves, belonged to Grand Duke Hikolay Nikolaevichy The origins of Prussia’s ‘Pour le Merite’ date back to 8 May 1667 with the founding of the ‘l’Ordre de la Generosite’ by Friedrich-Wilhelm, Elector of Brandenburg (1620-1688). Originally a fairly simple decoration, by 1685 it had become a sky-blue enamel Maltese cross The oak leaves were originally established for the Red Eagle Order as an addition level to the Order. The same was true of the Pour le Mйrite on the 10 March 1813. This special higher level was to be awarded for extraordinary achievements: thusly, the criteria was closely controlled and the award was usually given to high ranking field commanders for significant military victories or major contributions to the war effort. The device was designed in accordance with the wishes of King Friedrich Wilhelm III in honour of his former wife, Queen Louise of Meckenlenberg-Strelitz. Total the Order of Prussia’s ‘Pour le Merite’ with oak leaves was awarded 112 times - ONLY !! History of owners: Last 70 years this order was belonged for two Russian military's men. One of them (I know his name) had this order since 1938 till 1954. Another one (I know his name as well) had this order since 1954 till 2008. Last owner said what the wife of previous owner (that owner was arrested at that time) what this order, Star and Order of St. Georgy 1st class, the collar of the Russian Order of St. Andrew and other high rank of awards was belonged to family of Nicolas II. Also the documents are saying what in 1877 the same order was given to Grand Duke Hikolay Nikolaevichy (please look at the last image). Estimate price for that nice item is $100.000+.
